This is how you will receive HBO Max in the Netherlands in March
After years of waiting, we can finally check HBO Max in the Netherlands from March 8; this is how you receive the new streaming service.
It’s almost time. Roughly 4.5 millennia after everyone wanted to receive HBO, the streaming service is finally coming to the Netherlands. All this time, monster shows like Game of Thrones, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Sopranos, The Wire, Barry and countless gems were unavailable with us. You will receive HBO Max in the Netherlands from 8 March.
HBO Max to the Netherlands
For the time being, you have to receive HBO in the Netherlands via Ziggo. Customers of the provider have to take out an extra subscription for the streaming service via Ziggo, after which the channel is available on demand via the media box, among other things. From January 2022, on the other hand, that will no longer be the case, because the Max streaming service is coming to the Netherlands.
This no longer requires a channel or specific provider; via the official website, Dutch users can simply create an account and enjoy the content. HBO Max will probably also be available via a smartphone app and TV application, but nothing is officially known about that yet.
Price HBO Max
No official statements have yet been made about the price, but we can already check with our neighbors how it works there. In other European countries where the streaming service is already available, an unlimited subscription costs 9 euros per month for the time being. You can also take out an annual subscription there for 70 euros, which saves you 38 euros.
Since HBO Max is partially entering a new market in the Netherlands (not everyone has Ziggo of course), there might also be free trial subscriptions.
