this is how you file a declaration via the app
The Tax Authorities have released a new application for filing your income tax return for the past year. With the Declaration 2020 app you can get started with this and in many cases it can be done with the push of a button.
Declaration 2020 app
You can now download the 2020 Declaration app from the Google Play Store (and Apple App Store). This application makes it even easier to get started with your tax return for the year 2020. Every year you can file the IB declaration via an app of the Tax Authorities, so now you can download the new application. Many people can easily file their tax return with the app. All information known to the Tax Authorities has already been entered, you only have to check it and then you can send it.
The Tax Authorities let you know that in some cases it is not possible to submit your tax return via the Tax return app. This applies to the following circumstances;
- did not have the same tax partner throughout the year
- bought or sold your home and therefore had deductible expenses
- had a residual debt for a former owner-occupied home
- temporarily rented out your home, for example through Airbnb
- had an enterprise
- share in an undivided inheritance
- had income from other work
- lived abroad
- had income from abroad
- had assets abroad
- co-parent and your minor child was not registered at your address
- had deductible items, such as gifts, healthcare costs or study costs
Tax returns for 2020 can be filed from March 1, 2021, next Monday. You can download the application in advance. To use the application, log in with your DigiD. If you have submitted the data, you will receive a PDF of this as confirmation. After sending, all data will be deleted from the app, due to the privacy-sensitive information.
If you submit your declaration before 1 April 2021, you will be notified before 1 July of this year whether you will have to make additional payments or receive a refund. Your tax return must in any case be submitted to the Tax Authorities before 1 July 2021.
