Philips Hue and Spotify: that’s how it works
It was already possible to synchronize your television with Philips Hue, so that Netflix or your favorite games get an extra layer. Now it’s music’s turn through a collaboration with Spotify.
The function is currently being tested, but you can use it in early access. To access it, make sure you download the latest version of the app.
If you can’t follow the steps below, reinstalling the app may help. Otherwise, the feature will only roll out to your app later.
Follow these steps to pair Philips Hue and Spotify:
- In the Philips Hue app, go to the ‘Discover’ tab and tap on the ‘Philips Hue + Spotify’ card;
- Tap the blue “Enable early access” button and then the blue “Get Started” button;
- Choose ‘Spotify account’ and then log in with your Philips Hue account and your Spotify account;
If successful, you will see a large check mark.
- Choose the entertainment room you want to use;
You can set this via the Settings menu of the Philips Hue app.
- After the instructions on how to use the Google Assistant with this feature, you’re done;
- The Sync tab has now appeared in the app. There, tap the sync button to sync the music you play in the Spotify app with your lights.
Have fun dancing!
