Electric car and a power outage

This is the brand new Ford F-150 Lightning. An electric pickup from the American car brand. The feature is not very applicable for the Netherlands, but that is different in the United States. For example, storms or other forms of natural disasters can cause large areas to be without electricity. A recent example is the extreme winter weather in Texas, which left millions of households without electricity for long periods of time.

The Ford F-150 Lightning is able to provide your home with energy if the power is out. As soon as the home gets power back in the normal way, the electric car will stop sending power. The car will then recharge itself. This is an automatic process and requires no additional actions.

Ford isn’t the only carmaker to come up with this idea. Lucid Motors has also come up with such a concept.
