“This app syncs Android and iPhone with Windows PC”

Intel’s new ‘Unison’ app makes it possible to connect both Android phones and iPhones to Windows 11. Via your PC you can then call, send messages, exchange files, read notifications and synchronize photos. The app works for certain devices with Windows 11.

Many people use an iPhone, an Android phone and a Windows PC interchangeably. It is therefore also useful when these platforms work together smoothly, but unfortunately that is not always the case. iPhones work fine with Mac computers, but it’s less obvious to sync these phones with a Windows PC. That doesn’t work with Microsoft’s Phone Link app either.

The Intel Unison app bridges iOS, Android and Windows 11. The app is available on all these platforms and you can sync Android and iOS devices with a Windows PC. The options for users roughly correspond to those of Phone Link. With Unison you can call via your PC, exchange files, read phone notifications, view your smartphone photos and send messages.

Availability

Unfortunately, there is one strong snake in the grass. The Intel Unison app is basically only compatible with Intel Evo laptops. However, Windows Central has already discovered that the app can also be installed on some other Windows 11 devices, including laptops that work with a chipset from Qualcomm. At the editorial office we have tried to install the app on our Windows laptops, but without success.

According to PC Mag, Intel has the ambition to have its Unison app work on many more systems in 2023, including devices from Lenovo, HP and Acer. To use the service, you need to install the Android or iOS app as well as the Unison app from the Microsoft Store. At the moment, you can only pair one phone at a time with Windows 11.

Can you already use the Unison app on your Windows 11 PC? And do you find the tool more useful than Microsoft Phone Link? Perhaps there are other services you can recommend? Let us know in the comments.
