The year 2022 was marked by numerous moving moments and events. You can see which topics and questions people in Germany are most concerned with by doing a Google search. In our weekly ranking, we show you the ten most common search terms of the year.

The year 2022 is coming to an end. Traditionally, in December we look back on the past few months. But regardless of whether it’s the World Cup in Qatar, the Ukraine war or monkeypox: A lot has definitely happened in 2022.

You can find out which topics people are most concerned with by looking at their search terms on the Internet. That’s why Google has one overview of the most common search terms.

Although the pandemic was still present in Google Search in 2022, it was overshadowed by other events. The following ranking shows you which topics Germans are most concerned with.

10th place: Warning for gusts of wind

In February 2022, Germany had to deal with severe storms. The hurricanes “Zeynep”, “Xandra” and “Ylenia” swept across the Federal Republic and left damage, chaos and several deaths in their wake. In order to keep themselves up to date on the current weather situation and its consequences, people in Germany searched Google for information about the storm and thus promoted the search term to tenth place in the ranking.
