Videoland has just announced a price increase for its ad-free subscriptions. The price increase will take effect from June 20.

Videoland raises prices

Videoland will send an e-mail to customers with a Plus and Premium subscription in May, Videoland reports on its website. Those are the subscriptions without advertising. In the email, these customers with one of these subscriptions will be notified of a price increase. It is 1 euro per month. The price of the Basic subscription with advertising will not change.

The Dutch streaming service provides the following justification for the increase: “In order to offer even more exclusive series, films and documentaries from our own soil and internationally on a daily basis, our prices will change soon.”

Videoland currently has 1.2 million subscribers, most of whom have probably taken out the Basic subscription. The price increase that Videoland is implementing is not unique. Disney Plus and Viaplay have also recently increased their rates. Netflix will also do this, but only for customers who share their account with others outside the family. Many people share their passwords with friends and/or family, allowing them to watch Netflix for free. This also applies to Videoland and other streaming services.
