CES 2021: These Apple gadgets are coming
The Consumer Electronics Show normally attracts thousands of visitors, but this time you didn’t have to buy a ticket to Las Vegas to be there. Instead, you could just follow the shows and revelations over the Internet. Apple itself is never actually present at the fair. The announcements have therefore been made by other companies such as Belkin and LG. These CES gadgets are worthwhile in our opinion.
1. Belkin competes with AirPods
Accessory maker Belkin has presented the Soundform Freedom True Wireless Earbuds, or wireless bluetooth earbuds. The headset takes on Apple’s own AirPods and has one big advantage up its sleeve. The earplugs work together with ‘Find my’.
This app is standard on your iPhone and keeps track of where your things are. That way you can, for example, find your iPhone, AirPods or MacBook on a card, and soon also the Belkin earplugs. The set comes with a charging box and will be released in March or April. The suggested retail price is still unknown.
2. Belkin MagSafe Charger
Belkin was on a roll last CES, as a new charger was also announced. This uses MagSafe, the magnetic Apple connector that made a comeback with the iPhone 12 series. You can charge this phone both horizontally and vertically.
The wireless charger is on the bottom. With this you can, for example, supply the AirPods with power. Belkin’s 2-in-1 MagSafe Charger will release in March or April for $ 99.95.
3. Sony Bravia TVs with AirPlay 2 and HomeKit
Are you looking for a new TV and do you mainly have Apple stuff at home? Then the Sony Bravia 2021 series unveiled last week may be worth checking out. These TVs can handle HomeKit, Apple’s platform for smart households, and AirPlay 2. This allows you to stream music, videos, photos and more directly from your iPhone to your Sony screen.
Depending on the model, the screen size of 2021 Bravia TVs is between 50 and 85 inches and the resolution is 4K or 8K. Furthermore, the new screens are equipped with all kinds of technical gadgets. Think of artificial intelligence and machine learning, for example.
4. iPad Pro dock
Kensington has presented a docking station for the iPad Pro. This transforms your tablet into a real workstation. This also offers space for a large qi module so that you can simultaneously power an iPhone and AirPods charging box.
On the side is a holder to charge your Apple Watch. The docking station has three USB-A ports, an HDMI connection and a headphone input. There is also an SD card reader and ethernet port. Kensington has yet to announce how expensive the iPad Pro workstation will be and when it will be released.
5. LG OLED monitor
LG has announced the OLED 4K Ultrafine. This 31.5-inch monitor has an OLED panel and is razor sharp thanks to its resolution of 3840 by 2160 pixels. Also cool: all 8 million pixels can be individually dimmed, which improves image quality.
The LG monitor particularly excels at showing contrasts and has multiple connections, including a 90 Watt charging port for accessories. There are also several USB ports and an HDMI connection. It is still unclear how expensive the monitor is and from when it will be available.
6. Dock5: Multi-function charger from Satechi
This charger from Satechi has room for no less than five devices, one of which is wireless. That way you can supply the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max with power simultaneously.
You charge your AirPods wirelessly by placing it in front. The Dock5 has two USB-C ports (20 Watt) and two USB-A connections (12 Watt). The wireless Qi charger goes up to 10 Watts of power. The Satechi charger costs $ 59.99 and ships from the United States, adding about $ 25.
Apple in 2021
Apple was therefore not present at CES 2021. However, other announcements are in the offing. The company is rumored to be releasing a new MacBook Pro this year.
