In terms of electricity generation, wind energy was responsible for a share of 23.1 percent the strongest energy source in Germany in 2021. Solar energy is also a sustainable way of obtaining energy and is popular worldwide.
Taken together, both resources form the fourth largest source of electricity globally, behind coal, gas and hydroelectric power. Wind and sun generate more than a tenth of the world’s electricity.
