There was an error connecting to the Apple ID server – How to fix it
Below are the possible solutions that can help you fix the issue:
- First, open your browser and visit Apple’s System Status page to make sure the servers are up and running
- Make sure you are connected to the internet. Switch from Wi-Fi to cellular data or vice versa. If you were on Wi-Fi turn it off then back on. Do the same with cellular data. You can also enable Airplane mode for a minute then disable it and see if that makes any changes.
- Choose the Set Automatically option for Date and Time – to do that, navigate to Settings> General> Date & Time and tap on Set Automatically.
- Restart your iPhone
- Sign out from your Apple ID and sign back in – Go to Settings> Apple ID> Sign out. Restart your device, go back to Settings, and sign back in.
- If you are using VPN, temporarily disable it
- Reset your network settings – to do that, navigate to Settings> General> Reset> Reset network settings. Confirm your action.
- Erase all content and settings – if nothing seems to be working, you can erase everything (data and settings) and set up your iPhone as a new device. Make sure to create a backup first. Then go to Settings> General> Reset> Erase all content and settings. Tap Erase iPhone. Once the process is completed, your phone will restart and you will have to set it up as a new device.
