The signal in southern Moravia has outages. Operators are already repairing them
The Czech Telecommunication Office confirms that, as a result of the natural disaster, the mobile signal in South Moravia was affected, among other things, and that it is failing at some operators, mainly due to interruptions in electricity supplies. Outages currently affect a smaller number of customers of mobile operators. Teams of mobile operator technicians are already in the field and in cooperation with the units of the integrated rescue system, they are working on the necessary repairs of the telecommunications infrastructure and ensuring the basic availability of mobile services.
“Currently, some base stations and signal transmitters are connected to backup power sources via diesel generators. In the most affected areas mobile base stations are also installed, mainly due to the immediate provision of the availability of emergency call lines (incl. crisis line 112). At present, however, most operators manages to maintain area coverage by GSM signal in the affected area, larger outages are currently related to 3G and 4G layer technologies of some operators, ”describes the CTU how much the signal in South Moravia is now limited.
The infrastructure providing the transmission of television and radio broadcasts did not show any serious damage, so the coverage of television and radio signals in the affected areas is not disturbed in any way.
