The novelty in the MIUI extension protects you from malicious applications
The Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi has recently been working hard to improve its MIUI superstructure. This year, it has released two new minor updates for MIUI 12, namely MIUI 12.5 and MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition. However, it does not stop testing and implementing new features, according to the latest reports from the Gizmochina portal, it is now starting to test a feature called “MIUI Pure Mode”.
This is a feature that helps users protect themselves from malicious applications. The company is currently looking for testers of this news in China, and has not yet published anything about the stable or global version.
MIUI Pure Mode also disables background application installation
Why did Xiaomi decide to implement such a feature? The company says Android users can easily fall victim to a cyber attack through malicious applications. The manufacturer further explains that up to 40% of applications installed by MIUI users have never passed security checks and 10% have been identified as potentially risky.

The novelty works on a simple principle, it simply does not allow users to install applications from external sources. Android has had this for several years, but MIUI Pure Mode also prohibits applications from installing anything in the background without user consent. If you are one of the more experienced users who like to install applications from external sources, you do not have to worry. The function can be switched off in the settings.
