The new Galaxy Z Flip 5 commercial is hilarious

Samsung is busy: the smartphone brand has made an advertisement that you must see. They mock their own device Galaxy Z Flip, by making a typical American summer camp advertisement with a nice horror touch. Because what you should definitely not do is look at the phone: then it will get stuck in your head and the end will be lost.

iPhone users on the heels

It’s a bit of Stranger Things, a bit of Wet Hot American Summer and a bit of The Ring: but all in all it’s just a really entertaining commercial about a culture we haven’t experienced ourselves, but know all too well from movies and series. However, what you don’t immediately see in this ad is that it also mocks iPhone users. These are the people who are sitting at the picnic table at the beginning talking about the danger of the switch.

The idea is that especially people who use iPhone don’t dare to switch so much (i.e. switch phones). It’s the second ad in the Join The Flip Side series and the idea is that it shows people who have grown into their iPhones that the world of foldable phones, and of course Samsung’s in particular, is much better and you to that “camp”.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5

This ad is exactly what it should be and in our opinion Samsung hits the nail on the head here: unlike Google, which can sometimes be a bit annoying in persuading Apple to use RCS, Samsung keeps it nice and light to introduce Apple fans to team Android draw. Gradually a few good features of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip devices are also touched on, so that completes the whole thing.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 is not yet available, but it will be teased as ‘the new one’ at the end. July 26 is the announcement of Samsung’s new foldable phones (Flip and Fold).

What do you think of this advertisement? Should Samsung stick to the more standard, business commercials, or can you appreciate this campy situation? Leave it now in the comments.
