The highlights of the PlayStation State of Play
The year 2022 is already half over, but there is still a lot to discover in the second half of the year. As part of the recent State of Play, Sony presented what you can look forward to in the coming weeks and months. We have summarized the highlights for you.

PlayStation: New releases and announcements for PS4, PS5 and VR2
Sony made some exciting reveals at State of Play. There’s news from third-party partners as well as a look at some games that are currently being developed for PlayStation VR2.
Resident Evil 4
After Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 Remake, Capcom now announces a new version of Resident Evil 4. According to PlayStation, the main focus in the development of the game is to create a state-of-the-art survival horror fit for 2023, while preserving the essence of the original game. The game is scheduled for release on March 24, 2023 for the PS5but is also in development for VR2.
Resident Evil 4 is though not the only game in development for VR2. You can also look forward to:
- Resident Evil Village
- The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners
- No Man’s Sky
- Horizon Call of the Mountain

Spider-Man Remastered
After games like God of War and Horizon Zero Dawn, another PlayStation fan favorite makes the leap to PC. Spider-Man Remastered is scheduled for release on August 12, 2022.
Stray
The cute cat from Stray won the hearts of fans months ago. Thanks to a new trailer, you can see new gameplay as part of the State of Play.
The game should to be released on July 19, 2022. PS Plus subscribers who own Extra or higher can download the game directly for free.
The Callisto Protocol
The Callisto Protocol is a new zombie game coming to PS4 and PS5. Futuristic weapons and frightening horror in space await you there.
The game is scheduled for release on December 2, 2022.
street fighter 6
With Streetfighter 6, a real classic is coming back. PlayStation today released a first and extensive look at the game, which mixes well-known combat with modern graphics.
The game will be released in 2023 for PS4 and PS5.
Final Fantasy 16
Fans had to wait a long time, but finally there is a new sign of life for Final Fantasy 16. Fans can look forward to new faces, but also to well-known characters such as Shiva, Ifrit, Bahamut, Garuda, Odin and many more.
Final Fantasy 16 is scheduled for release in summer 2023.

- Until the VR2 game Horizon Call of the Mountain comes out, you can enjoy the latest game in the series, Forbidden West, sweeten the waiting time. Aloy’s Adventure has received a major update for PS4 and PS5. By popular demand, this includes the “New Game+” feature and an ultra-hard mode. - With Rollerdrome a fast-paced shooter awaits you on roller skates. Drive down arenas, land incredible stunts and finish off your opponents at the same time. Rollerdrome is scheduled for release on August 4th for PS4 and PS5.
- eternity Combines action and dating sim, so you can expect a love story that is connected with exciting fights. Loot supplies, explore dungeons and of course… go on dates while doing it! Eternights is due out for PS4 and PS5 in early 2023.
- Later in 2022 wait with tunic and Season: A letter to the future two relaxing adventure games upon you. While Tunic already has a release date of September 27th, Season: A letter to the future is expected in autumn.
