The group makes a big promise to buyers of the new electric car
The market launch of VW’s new electric car should not be long in coming. The manufacturer is already making a big promise to potential customers. Because the ID.5 should be available surprisingly quickly. It will soon become clear whether and for how long Volkswagen can keep this promise.
VW on the ID.5: E-car is about to be launched on the market
Last year, Volkswagen presented the ID.5, the third model in the all-electric ID series. It was said that the e-SUV would appear in 2022 and it is now much clearer how long customers will have to wait: Already in The market launch of the new electric car is scheduled for April 2022as Automobilwoche claims to have learned from Achim Schaible, VW’s sales manager for Germany (via golem).
That means: In just a few weeks, buyers will be able to view the ID.5 live at their trusted retailer and place their first orders. But the actual announcement from Volkswagen is different: The Waiting time should only be four months. Based on an order at the beginning of April, the ID.5 could reach the first customers at the beginning of August.
Four months delivery time: VW gives e-car customers hope
Four months may sound like a long wait. In the current situation, however, this is much more a big promise which is sure to be well received by buyers. With the other ID.models, customers have had to be much more patient for months, and not all model variants can be ordered at all. Depending on the desired configuration, it can take much longer for customers to get their new e-car. This does not only apply to VW.
In the past few months, this was mainly due to the tense supply situation with chips as a result of the corona pandemic. Volkswagen has now announced further restrictions as a result of the war in Ukraine. Last week, among other things, the Production restricted in Zwickau, where the ID.5 is built.
With the announcement to customers, VW should on the one hand convey security want. On the other hand, you have to let yourself be measured by it. Above all, it will be exciting to see how long the Wolfsburg-based company can deliver the ID.5 promptly and whether the waiting time will be longer again in September.
