The Galaxy Watch 4 smart watch was unveiled in advance
Samsung will introduce the Galaxy Watch 4 smart watch on August 11. However, as is customary, we learned almost all the information in advance. The biggest change for this year’s smart watch will be the system. It is moving from Tizen to Wear OS, which will have a OneUI extension. The names will also change. The Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Classic will have a rotating bezel, while the Galaxy Watch 4 will have a rotating bezel, similar to what we have seen in previous years with the Galaxy Watch Active series.
The Galaxy Watch 4 smart watch is now in complete detail
The classic version of the watch will be available in sizes 42 and 46 mm, while the basic model in 40 and 44 mm. Smaller versions will have in both cases display size 1.19 inches and larger versions 1.36 inches. The difference in sizes is due to the swivel bezel of the Classic model. Another difference is in the materials. While the basic version will have an aluminum body, the premium Classic will have a stainless steel body.
Both models offer certification IP68 a MIL STD 810G and there will be display protection in the form of tempered glass Gorilla Glass DX. The displays themselves will have in both cases 450 x 450 pixel resolution, which is an improvement over the previous Galaxy Watch 3 series, which has a display with a resolution of 360 x 360 pixels. The Super AMOLED panel is a matter of course. We did not see much change in battery capacity, smaller versions will have 247 mAh, while larger ones will have 361 mAh. In the basic mode, they should last up to 7 days.
As we wrote in the introduction, after many years returns Wear OS, which was published on the earlier Samsung watch under the name Android Wear. However, it will also have a new one superstructure One UI Watch 3.5. All the upcoming watches from Samsung will have new Exynos W920 chipsetwhich will add 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, which is again an increase over last year. Galaxy Watch 3 has 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage.
In selected markets, they will also be available in a version with LTE support. Bluetooth 5.0 will not be missing, NFC and perhaps also support payment via Google Pay. After all, Samsung said earlier this year that paying by watch will work in the Czech Republic this year as well. Originally it was thought to be a Samsung Pay, in any case due to a change in the watch system is offered directly by Google Pay.
