The Fitbit smart watch gets a snoring detector
Fitbit smart watches, which have a built-in microphone, will soon get an interesting new feature. The latest version of Fitbit has found source code that indicates that the watch will be able to turn into a snoring detector at night. The Verge portal informed about the news.
Fitbit snoring detector can help you better monitor your health
Named Snore & Noise Detect, it detects ambient noise, including snoring, during sleep. When the function is turned on, the watch will analyze the ambient noise level during sleep and then try to distinguish snoring from other sounds. Of course, the novelty cannot distinguish whether the owner of the Fitbit watch is snoring or someone else in the room.
The manufacturer recommends that users do not play white noise or other ambient sounds during sleep that could interfere with snoring detection. It also suggests that users charge the watch to bed at bedtime to at least 40 percent, as this feature is battery-intensive.

However, the news will not tell you what to do with the information obtained. But it can help monitor your health, as snoring can seriously disrupt sleep and indicate the presence of health problems.
Snoring Detector is not yet available to all Fitbit watch users, and while 9to5Google has been able to enable the feature, it has not been prepared to fully test it.
Fitbit will tell you what kind of animal you are based on your sleep
Another upcoming feature was found in the app. Based on your sleep, it will tell you which animal you look like. If you have a restless sleep, the watch will evaluate you as a bear, or vice versa, if you sleep well, you will be a turtle. But again, it is not entirely clear what users should do with this information. It also appears that the feature is in much earlier stages of development as a snoring detector, so it is likely to be introduced later.
