The fall smartphone game: Pixel 7 vs iPhone 14! Fight!
To compare these two models, we decided to select 4 criteria: the advertised performance, the photo quality, the autonomy and the price offered. Ready, Set ? Go!

Performance: Tensor G2 vs. A15 Bionic
On the side of Google, we have communicated a lot about the new version of the processor. Engraved in 4 nm, the Tensor G2 offers powerful performance, optimized for photo and AI. It has two Cortex-X1 processor cores clocked at 2.85 GHz, four Cortex-A78 clocked at 2.35 GHz and two Cortex-A55 at 1.8 GHz.
The Pixel 7 comes with 8GB of RAM along with a maximum storage of 256GB.

At Apple, we have chosen to reuse the SoC of the iPhone 13, the A15 Bionic engraved in 5 nm (6 cores in the two fastest running at 3.2 GHz); an interesting recycling, but which allows the model to stand just level. The model has 6 GB of RAM and exceeds its competitor with a maximum storage of 512 GB.
Advantage therefore to Apple which offers a higher maximum storage; however, Google is innovating with its Tensor G2, offering more power in the face of a less “fresh” SoC.

Photo: battle of sensors
The iPhone 14 offers a dual photo sensor, a 12-megapixel wide-angle as well as a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle too. On the front, the front camera is still 12 megapixels.
The Pixel 7 offers a 50-megapixel main sensor with a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens. A little lower than that of its competitor, the selfie camera here is 10.8 megapixels.
The two devices therefore end up with equivalent photo modules, both also offering cinematic modes for a video that can film in Full HD 1080p but also in 4K. Difficult to decide between them on the photo, even if some try anyway…

Autonomy: who will last the longest?
We get used to this battle of numbers with each model release: the duration of the charging autonomy. On the side of Google, we announce “more than 24 hours of autonomy […] 72 hours in ultra battery saver”.
Apple for its part advances 20 hours of autonomy in normal use and up to 80 hours in audio playback use only.
Both models have overlooked fast charging (compared to market criteria).
In this area again, the two models are on an equal footing.

Price: two rooms two atmospheres
In terms of price, the two models are no longer equal. Apple has gotten us used to it, its models are (very) expensive. L’iPhone 14 has an entry price of €1,019which can go up to €1,409 if you choose a 512 GB model. As a reminder, we are not talking here about the Pro models, which will logically be more expensive.
Google meanwhile, offers its 128 GB model at €649 and its version 256 GB at €749. Already more reasonable prices, making this model relatively accessible.
Our conclusion
The two models, iPhone 14 and Google Pixel 7, are on par in many areas. Powerful, modern and full of technology, it is difficult to decide between them.
The Pixel 7, however, wins with one key criterion: price. On the 128 GB version, its price is 57% lower than its competitor. A major argument, for an almost equal quality. Of course, we have omitted the software part in this small comparison. It must be said that there is also a difference in philosophy between an open Android and an intuitive but closed iOS.
