The end of Stardew Valley? Developer talks about the future of the game

After all the big and small updates that Stardew Valley has received over time, the end could now have come: The developer wants to concentrate more on his next project.

Stardew Valley developer Eric Barone teamed up with Twitcher UnsurpassableZ to host a Stardew Valley competition packed with speedrunner challenges and more. Barone was there live during the stream and has a few among others Questions about Stardew Valley answered.

That’s also why I haven’t added more characters to marry. But there is no reason why it shouldn’t be anymore. I think that would be pretty cool. “

So it is in the hands of modders to add new characters to marry. As the stream progresses, Barone goes one step further and explains that he is currently not planning any further updates for Stardew Valley:

I’m not saying there will be any more updates to Stardew Valley. I just don’t know right now. Right now I’m focusing on my next game. So we’ll see. “
