Smart speakers more popular

It was concluded from this study that approximately 1.8 million Dutch households have a smart speaker. This is about 23% of the population. Last year this number was only 1.5 million. So a small increase.
Every household paid an average of 325 euros for a smart speaker. For example, a total of 600 million euros has been spent on these devices throughout the Netherlands. The most popular smart speakers are those from the Sonos brand.

Sonos has the largest market share. 6% of the Dutch have a Sonos smart speaker at home. That is about 450,000 households. The second most sold speakers are those of Google with 4% of the population. In third place is Google Home Mini with 3%.
About 240,000 households would be interested in purchasing a smart speaker. This is about 3%. If you add these figures together with the number of households that already have a smart speaker, 26% of the population would own a smart speaker within a year. Dutch people who want to buy a smart speaker prefer the Google Home (18%) and the Sonos One (13%).
