The Dutch manufacturer’s Fairphone 4 is officially introduced

According to information from the GSMAren web portal, the new Fairphone 4 series of Smartphones from the Dutch manufacturer is full of surprises. One of the main features is also the support of the most modern 5G mobile networks. Compared to other brands, the smartphone has incredibly cheap spare components and is easy to repair. What equipment and parameters has the new Fairphone 4 prepared for us?

As already mentioned, the introduced Fairphone also supports the latest 5G network. However, this is not the only novelty that this smartphone has prepared for us. Fairphone 4 in the French table of the easiest to repair smartphones received an admirable score of 9.2 out of 10. This is evidenced by the price of spare parts. The battery and the front “selfie” camera can be purchased separately for € 29.95. The rear dual camera is a bit more expensive, at € 79.95. The ecologically created smartphone body made of recycled materials is also interesting.

The Dutch company guarantees long-term software support with new smartphones. Two major updates and other patches for the Android operating system will be a matter of course until 2025. The device is equipped with IP54 dust and water resistant protection and MIL810G military certification. The novelty has a 6.3-inch Full HD + display with Gorilla Glass 5 protective glass. On the front of the smartphone there is also a cutout for the front 25 MP “selfie” camera in the shape of a drop. The side contains, in addition to the volume change and screen lock buttons, a fingerprint sensor.

The rear is equipped with a 48 MP primary camera with optical image stabilization and a secondary 48 MP ultra wide angle lens. The third cutout for photo panels includes a ToF sensor and a sensor for autofocus and color capture. The Snapdragon 750G chipset will take care of the performance in the new smartphones. Fairphone 4 will be sold in two versions, with 6/8 GB RAM and 128/256 GB storage space, which can also be expanded with a microSD card. Pure Android 11 has become the operating system on these devices.

The endurance is taken care of by a 3,905 mAh battery that supports 20 W charging. The smartphone package does not include a charging set to save the environment. In this way, the company tries to prevent excess electronic waste. The novelty also does not even have a 3.5 mm audio jack for connecting headphones, which is why Fairphone also offers its own wireless headphones for € 99.95.

The price of the novelty will be at the level of 579 € for the 6/128 GB model and the better version 8/256 GB will be released on the market for 649 €. The smartphone can be purchased in three color combinations, namely in green, gray or, in the case of the 8/256 GB model, also in the exclusive color “speckled green.” The estimated arrival of this news on the pan-European market is October 25, 2021.
