The Czech Nebuchadnezzar came up with new pitfalls -apkrig

The building strategy set in ancient Mesopotamia by authors from Nepos Games was published in February this year and received positive reviews (including ours) and enthusiastic responses. Classical titles such as Pharaoh or Caesar were often mentioned in connection with Nebuchadnezzar. Because of this, however, the game was often blamed for the absence of other influences that would enrich and make it more difficult. The second major update has now focused on these mechanics, fulfilling the wishes of many players who missed them.

While the first major update in early April offered a tax system or let its residents speak, the second mainly aims at a more elaborate simulation of the city and life in it. “These new features will bring more challenges to city development planning as well as many interesting interactions between residents,” the developers lured in early May. These mechanisms are fires, disease and crime. Their incorporation required not only an adjustment of the functioning of life in the city, but of course also new buildings, occupations and sanctions.

Now it is necessary to build a fire station, thanks to which firefighters patrol the streets and in the event of a fire, they will intervene and start its liquidation. Furthermore, facilities for healers and hospitals, which should prevent the outbreak of diseases and prevent their spread. Or a city patrol, which is supposed to take care of order and manifestations of crime, which is manifested here by the disappearance of goods or unrest. It is certainly not good to underestimate these new threats, because they can dismantle the whole economy in an instant and throw a prosperous city to ruin.

Firefighters must stop patrolling and run to the nearest water station to begin extinguishing. However, they may not get there in time and the fire will be too big to handle. Then they would have to let the building burn to the ground.

However, developers also do not forget to fix and improve existing elements. For example, the system of warehouses has been modified, now they function as transhipments and the transport of goods is easier, as loading and unloading is set up directly on the route itself and not for individual warehouses and goods. Taxes and wages can also be manipulated more, leading to a better life for the population or higher profits. The choice is up to everyone. New information layers are also a welcome improvement, which will facilitate orientation in the development of the city. And some may be pleased that there are ten new achievements that relate to the new mechanisms.

Of course, the list of all news and fixes is much longer and can be studied classically on Steam. However, as with the first update, there is a problem with saved positions that cannot be uploaded in the new version. However, the developers thought of that as well, so there is an option to select a previous version of the game in the game’s properties and on the beta tab and continue playing in it. And since the authors regularly communicate with players and their fans, it can be assumed that they haven’t finished the game yet and we can expect some more news in the future.
