Advertisements have appeared on the corporate website of the Chinese company Tencent, through which the technology giant is looking for new employees for TiMi Studios. The authors of the highly successful Call of Duty: Mobile and a host of other titles from Pokémon to Contra Returns want to join a team that is working on an as yet unannounced mobile game based on the famous racing series Need for Speed. Specifically, specialists in 3D animation, design, planning and project management should go to TiMi Studios, and all indications are that attentive fans have actually discovered a project in which Tencent is collaborating with Electronic Arts.
The original ads are in Chinese, but according to a translation by GamingOnPhone magazine, one of them openly talks about a realistic mobile racing game, which was subsequently confirmed by fans on Reddit. In addition, the user nicknamed RemKiad has brought the first image that can refer to the new game and which clearly states that the game will be powered by the 4th generation Unreal Engine. The AAA nature of the game can also be read, although it is understandably premature to talk about how much the game will be affected by a possible free to play model and how much it can maintain its premium nature. There is also caution about the possible name of the game – Need for Speed Online Mobile – on the other hand, it is such a generic designation that we would not take it in any binding way.
Other advertisements also indicate that the game should offer an open gaming world, and since it is no longer included in the development plan for the third quarter of fiscal 2021, according to RemKiada, testing may soon take place. The fact that TiMi Studios are the authors of the aforementioned Call of Duty: Mobile, which is available worldwide and one of the most successful games in the whole of Tencent, gives optimism to fans. It is not only about the quality of workmanship, but also the long – term support, which is in connection with the Need for Speed and especially after the experience with large versions are very attractive and, judging by the response, the community is beginning to have high expectations.
However, we must slow down this at least until someone competent comments on the possible mobile continuation of the NFS – neither Tencent nor the people from Electronic Arts have responded to the questions of foreign magazines.
