Android in June
We have already had several beautiful summer days, but hopefully we can expect more sunny days in the coming weeks. In any case, now it is time to look back on the month of June. What was the most important news, and what were the best apps of June? We’ll break it down for you.
OnePlus presented the OnePlus Nord CE 5G, an interesting smartphone in the Nord series with a great price tag. Samsung announced the Galaxy A22; as an affordable device with 5G. At Motorola, the Motorola Defy supplied with Android 10(!) was announced as a robust alternative to the well-known smartphones.
Google discontinued the free unlimited storage. In addition, Android 12 Beta 2 appeared with some new features. Another adjustment we saw was in the Google Play Store; the crappy ‘My apps’ overview was finally rolled out for that. It was also announced that Windows 11 will receive support for Android apps.
KPN expanded the day bundles for unlimited subscriptions and at T-Mobile we saw the Unlimited & Entertainment subscription. The magenta-colored provider also stopped using 2G. Several applications were extended with functionality. For example, you can create your own challenges in the Strava app and you can find the air quality in the Buienradar app. You will find the traffic lights in Google Maps; from now on also in the Netherlands.
