Economic wisdom considers a 4-day week to be feasible
In an interview with the Berliner Morgenpost, business sage Monika Schnitzer contradicted the clichĂ© that Generation Z has no desire to work: “It’s not that the younger generation lacks the ‘craving for work’. Instead, companies need more interest in motivated young people,” says the expert.
She also thinks a four-day week makes sense, as you only have to increase the working hours from eight to ten hours a day. According to Schnitzer, there is no empirical evidence that you can do the same work in four days with full wage compensation as in five. More efficiency doesn’t help either. Statistics show, however, that many Germans already work a lot of overtime and therefore work more than 40 hours a week – and sometimes even unpaid.
Jessica Dewald – Product Manager at Zalando – revealed in the t3n interview series “5 things I can’t work without” that she already works regularly with artificial intelligence. “Can I work without ChatGPT? Yes, but why should I?” says Dewald. ChatGPT is a real productivity booster for them and many questions can be answered much faster with it. The creation of a first text version as a working basis and the visualization of content using programs such as Midjourney are also real help.
In addition to using AI software, the manager also relies on a well-organized calendar, feedback and further development, and sport as an effective break in her everyday work.
US investors want to bring Elon Musk to justice. The accusation: Insider trading with the memecoin Dogecoin. According to the indictment, the Tesla boss is said to have deliberately manipulated the market, including through Twitter messages, paid influencers and an appearance on the television show “Saturday Night Live”. As a result, he managed to boost the value of the cryptocurrency by 36,000 percent, only to let it crash again. As a result, Musk has made high profits at the expense of investors with the help of various Dogecoin wallets.
The indictment is the third attempt, two had previously been rejected by the court. Musk himself called the previous version of the indictment an “imaginative work of fiction.”
After a first failed attempt at the beginning of the year, the voice AI ChatGPT has now passed the current Bavarian high school diploma. Employees of Bayerischer Rundfunk gave the artificial intelligence the tasks and then had the results corrected by teachers from the greater Munich area. The result: a huge improvement in all subjects. ChatGPT achieved a grade of two in German, ethics, history, as well as mathematics and computer science, although the AI had rattled through in all disciplines apart from history just a few months ago.
According to a correcting teacher, while the AI still struggled with tasks that required deliberation and lateral thinking, it still performed “good”. No matter whether the increasing competence of ChatGPT brings advantages or rather disadvantages for the education system – it is clear that the development can no longer be stopped.
Microsoft also wants to add some functions to the free version of the communication tool Teams in Windows 11. For example, there will be ways to create, manage and share in groups like Discord. You will also be able to create events within the communities. As a target group, Microsoft has small companies, clubs and associations such as parent-teacher groups in mind.
In addition to a few other features, the generative AI tool Microsoft Designer is also set to become an integral part of teams. The program, which is based on the Dall-E 2 open AI software, can create presentations, graphics, invitations and posters based on text input. The image AI is also to be integrated into the Internet browser Edge.
