That’s how well cloud gaming works on TV
Cloud gaming has to contend with prejudices: A high input lag causes delayed reactions, the picture quality leaves a lot to be desired anyway and the internet in Germany is far too bad for that anyway. We took the time to put these assumptions to the test. How good is cloud gaming at the moment? We show you in the video.
In a Poll by Statista At least 29 percent of those surveyed were convinced that cloud gaming is the future of gaming. And the others? They may still have images of the early days of game streaming in mind. A lot is said to have improved, for example the image quality. And news like the discontinuation of Google’s cloud gaming service “Stadia” does not reflect well on this feature either.
So what about cloud gaming? To find out, we fired up the Samsung QN95B with the integrated Samsung Gaming Hub. The hub not only ensures latency-free operation of consoles, but also has some pre-installed cloud gaming apps.
Advantages of an integrated system
We chose Xbox Cloud Gaming for our test for one key reason: accessibility. Xbox Cloud Gaming is part of Game Pass Ultimate. So if you have already subscribed to the Game Pass, there is a high probability that you already have the Cloud Features Access. If you have played games, save data will be recognized by the cloud. So you can join the game stream where you last got off the console at home.
It is also easy to use: whether from an Xbox, directly in the web browser or – in our case – with a dedicated app on a smart TV, Xbox cloud gaming is always available in the shortest possible time.

Cloud Gaming: Has the Time Come Without a Console or PC?
Cloud gaming today can compete with local console gaming in some respects – but not in all respects. If you can ignore the not always optimal image quality, you now get a decent overall package, which, however, cannot yet replace a console or a gaming PC for core gamers.
