‘That we can celebrate the holidays together in this way is great wealth’

I can already outline my life at the end of December for you in June. A bit predictable perhaps, but I’m really good at traditions. Especially during the holiday season. Strolling around and getting into the mood in the garden center where we often buy a new – much too expensive – house for our Christmas village that we display every year by the fireplace. Decorating the tree together, we always put the peak on it twice because we never know who did it last year. Extensive gourmet, we prepare and the children make menus. We all binge on Christmas home alonemovies in pajamas or onesie. Dressed up to the families at the end of the afternoon.

Taking a break

Maybe not so adventurous, but I love it and above all, this repetition of moves at the end of the year makes us all very calm and relaxed. Because I know exactly what to expect, I have room in my head for a little reflection on the past year. A year that was adventurous and hectic enough to hit the pause button at Christmas. And above all: to realize what you have. Because that we can celebrate the holidays together in this way is great wealth. So at the end of the year I’m going to be very grateful for everything I have and the lovely people who are around me. And I wish you the same. Make it something beautiful!
