Tencent invests in Russia and tinyBuild expands -apkrig

Tencent reopened his “bottomless” wallet and went shopping. This time he invested in the Russian studio GFA Games, which works on the promising post-apocalyptic first person MMORPG Pioner. Tencent gained a minority stake in the team. Thanks to his resources and experience, the authors plan to finish the game sooner and attract more talented developers to expand the company. According to the official statement, the developers are happy and grateful that their vision has captivated the Chinese giant.

Studio GFA Games was founded by developers who previously participated in STALKER 2, Atomic Heart, Kings Bounty, Metro Exodus or Orange Cast. Now they are looking for more animators, programmers and artists. According to them, the pioneer should come out next year. Its development began in 2018. In addition, the authors suggest that they also plan other games. You can read more details about the game Pioner in our older article.

American independent game publisher tinyBuild again boasted that it had bought Versus Evil and the QA team Red Cerberus. Versus Evil is another American publisher who helped bring the banner to The Banner Saga, Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire and Armikrog. The $ 31.3 million deal expanded tinyBuild with another 250 employees and a portfolio of another 32 games.

Versus Evil is to continue to operate as its own record label, specializing in RPG and turn-based strategies. According to Versus Evil management, the connection could not have come at a better time. It is said to open up more opportunities for the future. The Red Cerberus testing and localization team is based in Brazil and is intended to be a gateway to the country and its developers. Thanks to this expansion, tinyBuild now has over 400 employees.
