Telegram is planning a premium model
Update from May 02, 2022: As Telegram shows in the beta version of iOS, users with “Telegram Premium” will receive additional content. This includes additional stickers and emojis (Source: Telegram). If you send a premium emoji to a person who does not have paid access, they will be asked to register for “Telegram Premium”. If this doesn’t happen, the person won’t be able to see the emoji. It is not yet known what the service will cost. Other benefits could be introduced for paying users.
Original item:
Just a few days ago it was announced that Telegram would like to display advertising in chats. Advertisers should be able to send messages to large groups with more than 1,000 members. That’s the preliminary plan. It was already clear that it wasn’t going to stay that way. Telegram does not want to rely completely on this type of advertising. Now you plan a subscription model for users, in order to be able to hide this advertising directly (source: MSPoweruser).
Accordingly, Telegram is not only working on advertising to be introduced, but also directly on a possibility of not having to see this advertising. Accordingly is a “cheap subscription” planned, which means that users never have to see ads and support Messenger. The exact amount is not known. It should probably not be more than one or two euros a month.
Incidentally, WhatsApp also cost something. Back then, you had to pay a one-time fee of 99 cents for the app. Later, however, the messenger was free and then bought by Facebook. Telegram, on the other hand, has just started for free and now wants a lot of money do with the many users.
Telegram is one of the top WhatsApp alternatives. in the Video find out why:
Channel owners can also turn off ads in Telegram
But not only users will be able to switch off advertising in Telegram for a fee. Channel owners can also switch off advertising for their own channel. This ensures that no advertising is displayed there. Telegram is currently still considering the costs.
