Developers and publishers from Team 17 have added another interesting party game to their portfolio – Golf With Your Friends. They won the brand, including the rights to the already released game, for 12 million pounds, ie for about 350 million crowns, which frame the success of approximately 5 years of developing the title. The move is not too surprising given the focus of Team 17 or their flagship Worms series, as well as the fact that Golf With Your Friends released last May. However, this is a big event for a team of three brothers from the Australian studio Blacklight Interactive, who years ago started developing with the vision of staying close to friends who had to leave due to moving, and now they can congratulate themselves on the apparently unexpected fortune.

On the other hand, the game cannot be denied that it was rapidly gaining in popularity and from Steam, where it has very positive ratings from approximately 26,000 reviews were later received on the PS4, Xbox One and Switch consoles. In addition, it is successfully selling for a price tag of 14 euros, which was probably one of the reasons why the people from Team 17 made a significant investment. Team 17 wants to build on the popularity of the game and the loyal community, which was willing to forgive many shortcomings in the beginning, and the announcement also brings signs of future steps. “We hope to find more opportunities to extend the game’s life cycle, which includes additional DLCs and ideas for potential sequels,” said Team 17. In the case of Golf With Your Friends, incremental expansion might not be too complicated, given that that adding additional locations and tracks can be developed virtually indefinitely.
