Sweaty WhatsApp: 487 million accounts are compromised!
WhatsApp has 2 billion active users: that’s huge. This represents 1/4 of humanity. No one knows how she managed to glean so much data, but someone is currently putting up a list of over 487 million phone numbers for sale. Almost 25% of all WhatsApp users. This is not a joke or a “fake” since the researchers of cyber news were able to get their hands on a sample and the conclusion is clear: they are indeed recent phone numbers of active users of the app.

Almost 20 million French people affected!
The hacker sells the data by market: $7,000 for all US numbers, for example (32.3 million phone numbers!). The most affected country is Egypt with close to 50 million numbers: almost half the population! France is the fifth most affected country with nearly 20 million accounts. For a country of 67 million inhabitants, and considering that obviously not everyone has a WhatsApp account, we can consider that almost half of the French accounts appear in this list.
So be very vigilant right now with the messages or calls you receive on WhatsApp, because with these very low prices, many scammers will try their luck with the unfortunate people who have seen their number thus revealed. To avoid personal data leaks, we of course advise you to use a VPN, but why not skip WhatsApp and opt for Signal?
