Super Mario Bros: here is the second trailer of the film which reveals much more
Nintendo has uploaded the second trailer for the film Super Mario Bros. which will be released on March 29, 2023 in cinemas. It is on the occasion of a specific Nintendo Direct. The first extract had been broadcast last month.
After showcasing Mario, Bowser, Toad, Luigi and an army of penguins last month, Nintendo and Illumination’s new movie trailer tells us a whole lot more about the brothers’ adventure and gives us our first look at Princess Peach and Donkey Kong.
The second trailer for the Super Mario Bros. movie features a significant amount of fan service, including Mario, Peach, Luigi, Toad and the whole crew even racing down the tracks of Rainbow Road, in a nod to the famous Mario Kart game.
This (very short) Nintendo Direct was also the opportunity to have an introduction by Shigeru Miyamoto, aka the correlator of the Mario franchise (and many others, such as Zelda games). He said he was unable to tell us more about the story of the film. However, he made it clear that it was soon to be finished. Besides Shigeru Miyamoto, there was Chris Meledandri (boss of Illumination), as well as Anya-Taylor Joy and Seth Rogen who do the voices of Princess Peach and Donkey Kong respectively in the original version.
