The Sony Xperia 5 IV has been announced by the Japanese manufacturer. The brand came earlier this year with the release of the Xperia 1 IV and the Xperia 10 IV. The fourth generation of the series is now being expanded with a device from the 5-series. The phone can best be described as a premium device with a focus on the camera, and with a more compact design, according to Sony. The Xperia 5 IV is not as compact as we saw in the past, it is also larger than the Galaxy S22. So we will not immediately give it the name compact.

In the field of photography, the phone has a series of improvements. For example, real-time tracking has been improved and a lot smarter. You can also use HDR Burst Shooting to shoot consecutive photos with rich colors and high contrast. In addition, there is real-time Eye AF, with which you can continuously focus on eyes and you can make slow-motion videos in 4K 120fps. The camera itself has three times a 12 megapixel lens; this is a 16mm wide angle lens, a 24mm standard lens and a 60mm telephoto lens. The last two mentioned are equipped with optical image stabilization. The front camera also has 12 megapixels and should also take good photos in low-light environments.

Sony equips the Xperia 5 IV with newly designed speakers with clearer sound. There is a 3.5 millimeter connection for the real music lover and 360 Reality Audio is also present again. Thanks to the Music Pro application you can start a sound recording, with studio quality. Thanks to quick charge, the 5000 mAh battery can be charged to 50 percent in 30 minutes. Thanks to smart charging, the battery should last three years without much loss of quality, according to Sony. You have to purchase a charger yourself, it is not included.

Also present is a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, there is an 8GB RAM and 128GB storage space with support for a memory card. The phone is IP68 certified and has a 6.1-inch Full-HD+ 120Hz OLED screen. The Xperia 5 IV is for sale in mid-September for a price of 1049 euros.
