Studying is expensive. In some countries it is even so expensive that students have to take out enormous loans. In our weekly ranking, we show you the ten countries in which studying costs the most money.
Anyone who has neither sufficient private assets nor a scholarship to fall back on must, in case of doubt, finance their studies with a student loan. However, studying in Germany is still relatively affordable compared to other countries – at least when it comes to tuition fees.
Student loan: This is how much money it costs to study
Average 499 euros German students pay tuition fees per year. On average, it takes about a year to repay. However, the totals look very different in a global comparison, as an analysis of the costs for the courses in medicine, nursing, law, civil engineering, software development and teaching shows.
In the following ranking we show you in which countries the tuition fees are highest and how long it takes graduates to repay a loan.
10th place: China
On average, students in China need about a year on the labor market to pay off their student loans. However, compared to Germany, the annual tuition fees are included 1,008 euros.
