In the future, Netflix would like to offer a cheap subscription that includes advertising. With Microsoft, the streaming provider has now found a partner for the advertising business. Netflix must come up with something to avert the crisis.
Netflix: Microsoft as a new advertising partner
Netflix should do it in the future give at least one new subscription, which is significantly cheaper. For the lower price, customers have to endure advertisements. So far, only a few details were known, but at least it is now clear who takes care of the advertising for the streaming provider. Netflix has officially announced that Microsoft will be an advertising partner with its ad technology.
The announcement states that Microsoft stands for “strong privacy protections” and has a proven ability to meet Netflix’s requirements. However, the streaming provider also states that the cooperation is still in its infancy and that there is “a lot to do”. Netflix does not mention real details about the new subscription model, which is why one can only speculate about the actual design.
The cheapest Netflix subscription so far is available in Germany for 7.99 euros per month. An ad-supported version should therefore be available for less – or maybe even free Tobe offered. It is still unclear whether Netflix will display advertising before, after or even during films and series.
