Strategy hit takes the charts by storm

After one year of Epic exclusivity, A Total War Saga: Troy has now been released on Steam – and the strategy hit hits like a bomb. One of the reasons for this is that a new expansion was released at the same time.

A Total War Saga: Troy – finally on Steam and right in the charts

There’s a lot of movement at the top of the Steam top seller charts. Currently is swinging A Total War Saga: Troy to a bestseller and takes second place – and that is probably due to two reasons.

A Total War Saga: Troy was originally released exclusively in the Epic Games Store in summer 2020 and was offered free of charge to all players for 24 hours on the day of release. This exclusive period has now expired, so the strategy game has also been available on Steam since September 2nd, 2021 (Source: Steam).

At the same time, the new Mythos DLC that came with the game mythical creatures, new landscapes and combat skills adds.

What makes the strategy game so special?

Troy is not reinventing the well-known total war formula, but instead offers fans of the series even more of the game content they already like. Players are allowed to 8 new story campaigns that are very different from each other and are complex as usual. In addition, the strategy game remains true to the historical model in many aspects and takes up various myths and legends.

For newcomers to the series, A Total War Saga: Troy is not suitable. The difficulty of the campaigns increases within a very short time, the mechanics are sometimes under-explained, so that beginners could quickly be frustrated.
