Spotify tests direct sale of concert tickets

Spotify no longer seeks to be a simple music streaming service, the group wants to evolve and is now testing the direct sale of concert tickets to fans.

Spotify has already partnered with Ticketmaster, Eventbrite and See Tickets to sell tickets through its new live event feed, where you can view nearby events and buy tickets through a third party. . The new website Spotify Ticketshowever, allows you to purchase tickets through Spotify itself.

For the moment, the test concerns the United States with concert places for Limbeck, Annie DiRusso, Dirty Honey, Crows, TOKiMONSTA, Four Years Strong and Osees. At present, most places have been sold. Only Limbeck and Osees are left with prices of $16.95 and $42.38 respectively.

The legal page of Spotify’s website noted that the company sells tickets “on behalf of third parties, including concert halls, event promoters, fan clubs and artists, as their official ticket agent”. This means that Spotify does not set the price of its tickets and it will also charge customers a booking fee which it will disclose at checkout.

Unsurprisingly, buying a concert ticket requires having a Spotify account. All you have to do is present the confirmation e-mail on D-Day, as well as an identity document at a dedicated space during the concert to obtain the tickets. Also, the resale of space is prohibited.
