Spotify launches new personal AI DJ
Spotify tries to introduce new music to you in all kinds of ways. Today a new way is added, namely a personal AI DJ. This is how this new feature works.
DJ based on artificial intelligence
In addition to the well-known ways such as Discover Weekly and the annual Wrapped, Spotify is now launching a new kind of way to discover music. This personal DJ puts together the ideal playlist for you, supplemented with comments about the tracks and artists that Spotify thinks you will like. You should actually see it as a very personal radio station.
In addition to the latest music, you will also look back at old favorites or even play a song you haven’t heard in years. The line-up changes continuously based on the feedback you give. If you don’t like the atmosphere that the DJ is creating now, just press the button and you will get a new line-up of artists.
Spotify uses OpenAI and a dynamic speech platform for this new feature to create the most natural-looking voice. Spotify’s personal DJ is called Xavier “X” Jernigan. X was previously used for Spotify’s first and personalized morning show “The Get Up”.
The feature is initially rolling out to Premium users in the United States and Canada.
Where can you find the Spotify DJ?
- Go to the music party at home in the Spotify mobile app on your Android or iOS device.
- Tap play on the DJ card.
- Spotify will now play the best music for you.
- Not the right atmosphere? Press the DJ button at the bottom right to go to another genre or artist.
