Spotify is working on a new Community feature: this is what you can do with it

Music service Spotify is working on a new feature that will be introduced in due course. It is a community, which adds a social aspect to the service.

The amount of social options in Spotify is quite limited. For example, you do have the Blends, with which you can create a unique playlist with a friend, but there are no real social functions. That will change in the long run, as is clear from new messages, the information of which has been confirmed by the Swedish music service.

Spotify is working on the ‘Community’ addition, which will allow you to keep track of your friends’ music sessions. The screenshot shows what the function will look like. You’ll see what your friends are currently listening to and playlist updates. The feature is somewhat reminiscent of the side activity bar in Spotify’s desktop app.

It is unknown when Spotify will roll out the feature to users. The feature is currently in an early stage of development.
