Speedtest app will receive useful coverage maps after update
A new update is being rolled out for the Speedtest app from Ookla. With the latest version you will find coverage maps, and they must be more accurate than those of your provider.
Coverage maps in Speedtest app
If you use the Speedtest app, you can also use the latest update to consult the coverage maps. You will not only see the coverage of your own provider, but also that of other providers. According to the information, these must be more accurate than that of your own operator.
Speedtest’s coverage maps show you exactly where there is coverage, even at street level, the developer promises. A distinction is also made between the type of network that can be offered at the chosen location. Think of no coverage, 2G, 3G, LTE (4G) and 5G.
The information in the coverage maps is collected from previous speed tests performed with the Speedtest app. You can also view the coverage of the different providers for other areas and other countries. For example, you can swipe to Sweden and view the coverage of, for example, Tele2, 3, Telia and Telenor. The coverage maps only work for mobile networks, not fixed broadband.
You can now download the update from the Google Play Store.
