Specifications OnePlus Nord CE 5G leaks, this is currently known
OnePlus’ Nord portfolio will be expanded during the Summer Launch Event with two new phones, including the Nord CE 5G. It should be the ‘cheapest Nord phone’ with an AMOLED screen, according to specifications of the Nord CE 5G that were leaked Friday evening.
OnePlus North CE 5G
OnePlus released three Nord phones in Europe last year: the Nord, Nord N10 5G and N100. OnePlus wants to release a so-called CE 5G edition of the former device. CE in this case stands for Core Edition – it has to reduce the original OnePlus Nord to the basics, the ‘core’. Reducing the specs to the basic necessities, the Nord phone’s price is also slashed. It is currently unknown how much the phone will cost.
On Friday evening, one day after OnePlus announced its intention to launch the Nord CE 5G during its Summer Launch Event, Android Central leaked the first details of CE 5G. OnePlus would use a Snapdragon 750G chipset in the Nord CE 5G, according to Android Central. Previously, both Xiaomi – in the Mi 10T Lite – and Samsung used the chipset for the Galaxy A52. Although the chipset cannot match the performance of the Snapdragon 765G, the chipset is well suited for midrange phones around 300 euros.
Fewer cameras
Furthermore, the website announced that part of the OnePlus Nord DNA, specifically the Nord’s AMOLED screen, will return on the Nord CE 5G. On the Nord CE 5G we find a 6.43-inch AMOLED screen with a 90 Hz refresh rate. The specifications correspond to the screen of the original Nord. It is not known whether it is actually the same screens, or whether OnePlus has only aligned the screens in terms of specifications.
If the same screen is used, OnePlus will probably process a smaller cutout in the AMOLED panel. According to the rumors, the Nord CE 5G contains a 16 MP selfie camera, while the Nord contained two more selfie cameras. On the back, the camera module of the Nord CE 5G is also set up differently than the camera module of the original Nord. Instead of the 48 MP main camera of the Nord, we will probably find a 64 MP sensor on the Nord CE. The camera module, which is very similar to the module on the OnePlus 9, is rumored to contain two other sensors with unknown specifications.
Summer Launch Event
Prices of the Nord CE 5G are as yet unknown, but given the lower-positioned Nord N10 5G currently costs 299 euros, there is a good chance that the Nord CE 5G will receive a higher price. Still, the price can’t be much higher, since the original Nord is sold for 369 euros. OnePlus will reveal all the details of this phone as well as the details of the N200 on June 10 during its Summer Launch Event.
