Souhrn z The Game Awards 2021 » Vortex
This year also marks the end of the traditional The Game Awards. Moderator Geoff Keighley and his team prepared a more than three-hour show, which he has only talked about in superlatives in recent days and weeks. It almost seemed that the individual awards were on the second track and from the gaming ones Oscars became the busiest video game conference. Big and small announcements, brand new games, information about already released pieces and a lot of interesting meetings of stars and personalities not only from the video game industry were promised. In order to have an overview of what was discussed at night, we have a traditional summary for you beyond the scope of the transfer.

Alan Wake 2
That’s right, Alan Wake is finally back. Remedy Entertainment is working on the second part in collaboration with Epic Games. The game is due out in 2023 on the Xbox Series X and S, PlayStation 5 and PC. Sam Lake considered the sequel from the beginning, and during the long years since the release of number one, many concepts for Alan’s next story emerged, which later included Control. And now comes the time when they can present his next adventures to the players. While the first part was an action game with elements of horror, the second is supposed to be an outright survival horror, which is something new for Remedy and they promise a real combination of story and gameplay.
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II
Senua and the continuation of her saga have finally become more apparent thanks to a large gameplay display. In it, we look at Senuu and her companions, how they throw themselves into the giant’s hunt. It is clear from the trailer itself that there will be a dense atmosphere, fierce battles and, of course, a harbinger of another adventure that Senua will have to go through.
Star Wars Eclipse
Quantic Dreams Studio has introduced its Star Wars game, subtitled Eclipse, in which we look back to the period of the High Republic, about 200 years before the events that we know from the saga of Anakin Skywalker. The trailer offers a number of impressive and rather dark shots, but the game itself is in its early stages of development, so the release date and the platform on which the game should arrive are not known. Eclipse is supposed to be an action-packed and strongly story-based adventure that takes players to the Outer Rim and introduces a range of characters with their own stories and abilities.
Elden Ring
Souvenir fans and those who are eagerly awaiting the Elden Ring also had their way to The Game Awards. There is a new story trailer, but even this time it is not safe to say that we have an idea of what is really going on and what the game will be about. The trailer speaks of the theft of an artifact related to death and the fall of the demigods, which led to a devastating war and the collapse of the Elden Ring. As a result, and the devastating war, players plunge into a divided world that can only be saved by reuniting a rare artifact, and someone is needed to take on the title of Elden King and reunite the game world. And so on February 25, when this dark RPG arrives on the Xbox One, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, PS5 and PC.
Wonder Woman
Another comic book character will experience his own game after the film, this time this honor is met by Wonder Woman from the DC stable. Monolith, a Middle-Earth studio, is working on the game with WB Games. Wonder Woman is conceived as a single-player game with an open world and offers a completely new story unencumbered by a comic book template. In addition, the game is to use the Nemesis system, which the developers from Monolith have already used in Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor and then in Shadow of War, and quite recently they finally managed to patent it.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League
The Rocksteady team, which showed a trailer for the Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League action adventure at The Game Awards, also appeared in the trailer, and for the first time ever, they also showed footage directly from the game. These reveal, among other things, the character of Flash or Harley Quinn, who represent the negative. Suicide Squad will arrive next year on the console and on the PC and will offer a single or multiplayer game.
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2
One of the newly announced titles is also the third person event Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, which is released by Focus Interactive and whose development is under the auspices of the Saber Interactive team, which is still known, especially the game ports of other studios. In Space Marine 2, players will once again play the role of the emperor’s elite units, mastering deadly abilities and an arsenal of devastating weapons. The fights will take place on board ships and on distant worlds, and as the published trailer suggests, in which you can see a few seconds of gamneplay footage at the very end, there will be no shortage of frenetic action. Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 will be released on PS5, Xbox Series and PC next year.
Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands
One of the more action-packed trailers is the story trailer for the first person shooter Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. The video focuses on the characters and the outline of the story, which takes place outside the main storyline and outside the central world of the Boderlands titles, however, fans of the main games will obviously feel at home here. Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands will be released on the Xbox One and Series, both generating the Sony PlayStation and PC on both March 25.

Slitterhead
The Slitterhead trailer confirms previous clues and it turns out that horror designer Keiichiro Toyama is not really working on Silent Hill, but on another horror title. This is Slitterhead, which Toyama and his Bokeh Game Studio team presented at the Game Awards with a trailer. It combines action gameplay, strange characters, the world of the Japanese metropolis and the Eastern weirdness and overshoot typical of Central Europeans. The footage also suggests that the novelty should take place in Kowloon, a very densely populated part of Hong Kong. It is also worth mentioning that the court composer of the Silent Hill series, Akira Jamaoka, is also involved in the project. Neither the release date nor the platforms are known yet.
The Expanse: A Telltale Series
Telltale Studio is taking the floor again and introduced us to their new venture, The Expanse. Fans of books or series will thus see a further expansion of this universe. The main character is Camina Drummer, who, as in the series, is played by actress Cara Gee. As we are used to at Telltale, a strong story awaits us, which will take us through the events that Camina experienced before the story itself. On board the ship Artemis will have to face conflicts and rebellions, so there will be no shortage of need for many decisions.
Planet of Lana
The beautiful game Planet of Lana showed off her breathtaking art as well as the soundtrack, which is taken care of by composer Takeshi Furukawa. As we know from the past, the story revolves around Lana and her companion Mui, who together search for Lana’s lost sister. A number of small pranks and riddles stand in their way, but also stealth. The game will arrive in 2022 on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC via Steam.
