Sinterklaas is back in the country and that means putting on shoes. Even in the Karthaus-Spoor house they don’t just let that pass by. In fact, son Otis (5) has quite a package of requirements for the helpers. And so Carolien Karthaus-Spoor, eh rubbish piet, has to work hard.

‘Lieve Malle Pietje’, is written on Otis’s letter to Piet. ‘Would you please put toilet rolls everywhere? And throw the pillows all in the playroom?’ Oh, and if the piet wants to hide his gift under the toilet and put candles on the floor. The gift from brother Elias (2) is allowed under the table.

You can already feel it coming: when the boys are in bed, the whole house has to be overhauled. In a hilarious video on Instagram, Carolien shows the result: toilet paper in the living room, toys on the floor, overturned chairs. And all this at 6 o’clock in the morning. But who cares: Otis is over the moon with the actions of Malle Pietje. And for all parents who are already done with all the Sinterklaas: ‘It will be December 6,’ said the actress.
