Some Marvel series on Disney + will have multiple seasons, confirms Kevin Feige
Several Marvel series will see the light of day on Disney + and some of them will have the right to several seasons. Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, evoked this topic with the Television Critics Association.
Several seasons for some Marvel series
“The fun of the MCU is obviously all the crossover we can do between series and movies”, said Kevin Feige. “So it will always vary depending on the story. Sometimes the series will move towards a second season and sometimes towards a movie and then become a series again. We have announced that Ms. Marvel, after her Disney + debut, will be in the movie Captain Marvel 2. But sometimes that is yet to be announced but we are considering planning a second season for some of the upcoming series ”, added the president of Marvel Studios.
WandaVision, for example, will link to the next movie Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Suffice to say that to see WandaVision before discovering the next Doctor Strange movie will be almost obligatory to understand everything. But other series will have a more traditional format with the continuation of the first season which will simply be unveiled in a second season.
Marvel series are designed like the movies
“We develop all these series in the same way that we develop our films”, said Kevin Feige. “In other words, when we start with a movie, we hope there will be a second part, we hope there will be a third part. But we don’t take that into account in the first part. We’re trying to do something that people enjoy enough and want to see enough of again to keep the story going. So that’s how we operate and that’s how we also operate on television ”, he added.
Three Marvel series on Disney + have had a release date so far. There is WandaVision, currently being broadcast. Then there is Falcon and the Winter Soldier which will start on March 19. And Loki will arrive on June 11.
