Short ‘Fast Laughs’ videos from Netflix are coming to Apple TV
Netflix is joining the battle for attention via Apple TV. The ‘Fast Laughs’ feature, TikTok-style short videos, will be integrated into the Netflix app on the Apple TV. In this article we tell you everything about this function.

What is Netflix’s ‘Fast Laughs’?
Instagram has ‘Reels’, YouTube recently rolled out ‘Shorts’ and TikTok is TikTok. Netflix is now joining this shift to short videos. The ‘Fast Laughs’ are videos of up to half a minute that preview series or films. This feature has been available on US iPhones for some time, but is now also available on the Apple TV app in that same country.
With the ‘Fast Laughs’, which mainly show (stand-up) comedy and Netflix Specials, Netflix hopes to arouse your interest in watching a certain show. You can scroll down in the iOS app, just like with TikTok, for a new viewing tip. With the Apple TV version, Netflix’s ‘Fast Laughs’ scroll horizontally via the arrows on the Siri Remote.
Discover Netflix’s Rich Library Through ‘Fast Laughs’
Until recently, it was only possible in Netflix to see whether the series or film is something for you on the basis of the cover image and the preview. However, these pictures never really capture the cinematography, style and humor of a show. Netflix hopes to fix this with this new feature.
“Fast Laughs” should not be confused with the “Play Something” button on your Apple TV. With the latter, Netflix chooses a random video based on your taste. These short videos from Netflix are not personalized and offer you a broader view of the streaming giant’s rich catalog.
Via the iPhone app it is already possible to automatically add videos that are nice to the watch list in these short videos. If this feature appears in the Netherlands, you will probably never have to argue with your partner or best friend about which show to watch again.
When will ‘Fast Laughs’ come to the Netherlands?
The feature has been rolled out to beta testers of the English-language Netflix app. Does it make sense to switch your Netflix to English? Unfortunately not. We have to wait a little longer before ‘Fast Laughs’ is available in the Netherlands. After a year, the short videos are still not available on Dutch iPhones. We will most likely have to wait a while.
