Several former Tesla employees are working on self-driving Apple Cars
Apple has once again hired a former Tesla employee for the mysterious Apple Car project. Is the first Apple car getting closer and closer?

Apple rehires ex-Tesla engineer
The Apple Car project continues steadily. Apple recently hired Christopher “CJ” Moore, a former Tesla engineer. That reports Bloomberg. Moore follows in the footsteps of several former Tesla and Mercedes employees. The Apple Car project, known internally as Project Titan, has been in the works for years now. Despite a number of significant setbacks, such as leaving executives and failed partnerships, Apple continues to work steadily.
Christopher Moore led the Autopilot team at Tesla. So he worked on realizing self-driving cars. Self-driving cars are the future. Nobody will need a driver’s license anymore and the number of man-made accidents will decrease drastically. However, it will be several years before the technology becomes mainstream. This is reportedly one of the reasons Moore left Tesla.
Moore felt that some of the statements made by Elon Musk, Tesla’s CEO, “didn’t match the technical reality”. Musk stated that Tesla would be close to releasing so-called ‘Level 5 autonomy features’. This would mean that Tesla will soon launch self-driving cars that no longer require human intervention. The current system, known as ‘Level 2’, requires drivers to keep their hands on the wheel.

We’ve been hearing rumors about the Apple Car for years. Hyundai announced a while back that it had spoken with Apple, but that the talks ultimately came to nothing. We actually know almost nothing about a possible car from Apple. What is certain is that Apple is following the electric car industry with great interest. It’s no big secret that Apple is working on a car.
For example, at the end of 2020, a former Porsche CEO switched to Apple to work on the mysterious project. In September 2021, Apple hired two former Mercedes engineers. Apple also acquired a series of start-ups involved in (autonomous) driving, such as Drive.AI.
