Segway-Ninebot presents three electric scooters and one e-moped

At the IAA in Munich, Ninebot-Segway will be presenting electrically powered mopeds and mopeds for the first time, which will be sold under the Segway brand and will be available in stores as early as the fourth quarter.

Anyone visiting the International Motor Show in Munich from September 7 to 12, 2021, has the opportunity to try out the new e-mopeds and mopeds from the world market leader in e-scooters Ninebot-Segway on a specially designed test track.

According to the company, Ninebot-Segway has designed three new e-scooters specifically for the German and Austrian markets. This is noticeable in the design and equipment. In addition to the scooter-style vehicles, the manufacturer is bringing a battery-powered moped onto the market. These are Ninebot’s first products in this class.

With the e-scooters, Ninebot-Segway relies on different equipment and different prices with largely the same basic construction. The entry-level model is the Segway E110S with a range of up to 75 kilometers and a price starting at around 2,300 euros. The better equipped Segway S110SE delivers a range of up to 97 kilometers at prices from around 2,500 euros. Both scooters have an output of 1.5 kilowatts.

Buyers have to spend around 3,600 euros for the top model of the Segway scooter series. Of the Segway E125S comes with a second battery that increases the range up to 140 kilometers. In addition, the vehicle has an output of three kilowatts and is equipped with an ABS braking system.

All models are available in two speed classes. There is a choice between a model that can travel 25 kilometers per hour and one that can travel at 45 km / h. First, Ninebot-Segway wants to bring the so-called launch edition, the S110SE, onto the market. The other two models should not be available in stores until later in the fourth quarter. All scooters are available in a variety of different colors and color combinations.

All three electric scooters can be controlled via an associated app. All important driver information is also signaled via a colored LED display on the handlebar. To protect against theft, the e-scooters have the AHRS system on board, which can continuously inform the owners of the location of the scooters via integrated 4G and GPS. If the system detects sudden movements, it sends a message to the connected smartphone.

In the app, which is available for Android and iPhones, extensive information can be called up, such as the route of previous trips, the battery level and the current location of the scooter. The app also serves as an electronic key. When the driver approaches or moves away, the scooter is automatically locked or unlocked.

In addition to the models in the classic scooter look, the manufacturer also offers an e-moped under the name Segway B110S before. The name is program. The vehicle comes in the classically reduced look of common mopeds, albeit with clear scooter reminiscences and offers the comparatively cheapest entry into e-mobility from around 1,800 euros. The moped is capable of everyday use with a range of up to 105 kilometers. In contrast to classic mopeds, there is not only one model available with a maximum speed of 25 kilometers per hour. Rather, Ninebot-Segway wants to bring a model onto the market here that can go up to 45 km / h.

All vehicles should be available in stores wherever the brand’s electric kick scooters are also available. Incidentally, Ninebot is also presenting its latest generation at the IAA.
