See! Most beautiful photos of 2021
The winners of National Geographic’s photo contest have been announced and we can now take a look at the best photos of 2021.
This photo contest is quite popular. This is evident from the fact that there were 13,000 entries. The winner was REAS researcher Stijn Thoolen from Oisterwijk. He sent in his photo called ‘Antartic Science Laser’. The jury ruled that the image has been ‘magically captured’.
‘Despite the extreme weather conditions in the Antarctic, Stijn Thoolen left nothing to chance when taking this photo. The superb composition projects scientists at work against a clear starry sky captured in stunning detail,” said National Geographic Magazine jury chairman and editor-in-chief, Robbert Vermue. There are also winners in other categories.

These categories are Human, Animal and Landscape. The jury and the public chose the winners from more than 13,000 entries. In addition, there were also prizes in three Junior categories: Animal, Landscape and Weird But Waar. A jury and a public winner were chosen for each category. We have listed the best ones below.
The overall landscape category was won by Thoolen. The audience award goes to Lucien Vandenbroucke’s photo ‘morning dawn’.
In the category Animal in adults, the audience award goes to Cora Deutekom. Here we see a great tit that washes itself.
At the juniors Weird but Where wins the photo of Marnix Don.
