Screen recording just got easier – with Siri

Apple officially released iOS 16.4 this week, bringing a few cool new features to your iPhone. For example, it is finally possible to turn on notifications for Safari and you have 21 new emojis. However, Apple is not sitting still, because the company has already released the first beta for the new iOS 16.5.

Such a test version is mainly intended for developers, so that they can immediately get started with the new functions. Earlier we wrote about the new features in the first test version of iOS 16.5. One new function was already mentioned there: making screen recordings with Siri. How does the new feature work?

Record your screen with Siri

Do you often take screenshots and screen recordings? Then there is good news, because in iOS 16.5 it will be possible to make a screen recording using Siri. It is already possible to take a screenshot or screenshot with Siri, but a screen recording was still too much to ask of the voice assistant. That will finally change with iOS 16.5.

To take a screenshot with Siri, simply say “Hey Siri, start a screenshot”. A screen recording will then automatically start, provided you have Siri enabled, of course. The screen recording can then also be stopped via Siri. Super handy if you have your hands full for a while, but still want to make a recording of your screen.

When will iOS 16.5 be released?

So taking screen recordings is a bit easier in iOS 16.5. The latest iOS update has only just been launched, so we have to wait a while for iOS 16.5. By comparison, iOS 15.5 was released in May last year. We can probably expect the same from iOS 16.5. If anything, the first test run of the iOS version gives us an idea of ​​the new features coming to your iPhone.
