‘Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 4 was the star of Galaxy Unpacked’
Samsung Unpacked brought us five new products on Wednesday: the Galaxy Z Flip 3, Z Fold 3, the highly anticipated Galaxy Watch 4 watches and finally the Galaxy Buds 2. Such an extensive launch naturally raises the question: which product was the best for you? star of the show. This time you can read the answer to that question in the AW Poll result.
Samsung Galaxy Unpacked
Samsung unpacked several products on Wednesday. It started with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3, two new foldable phones from the South Korean manufacturer. On the Galaxy Z Flip 3, the main changes are the new cover screen and the IPX8 rating. You will also find the IPX8 rating on the Galaxy Z Fold 3, which means that the foldable should now be water resistant. At the same time, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 brings a selfie camera under the screen to the ‘mainstream’ segment. It is also worth mentioning that the Z Fold 3 offers support for a new S Pen.
From the Galaxy Z series, we flipped the page to the Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic. As previously leaked, the Galaxy Watch 4 is the successor to the Galaxy Watch Active 2, while the ‘Classic’ should follow the Galaxy Watch 3 from 2020. Both smartwatches will now run on Wear OS 3 – Samsung is therefore moving away from the Tizen ecosystem to seek a closer collaboration with Google. Under the skin, the Galaxy Watch 4 (Classic) received a new, more energy-efficient chipset and a BIA sensor to collect various health data.
If you listen carefully, you can already hear the Galaxy Buds 2 approaching in the distance. Still, according to Samsung, you will find yourself in an oasis of peace if you turn the ears; they contain noise cancellation (ANC) to filter out your ambient noise. Another advantage of these earbuds is that they are Samsung’s lightest earbuds ever. In terms of design, the earphones and the accompanying case are also very similar to the Galaxy Buds Pro, which Androidworld has already extensively tested.
AW Poll, what do you think
A key player from previous Unpacked events is missing this year: the Galaxy Note. The Note series may return next year. Until then, there’s plenty to choose from with the Z Fold and Z Flip, or of course the Galaxy S21 series or upcoming Galaxy S21 FE. Androidworld readers already indicate that both the Galaxy Z Fold 3 (18.5%) and the Z Flip 3 (20.1%) belong to the stars of Unpacked.
Still, only one product can come out on top, and that’s the new Samsung Galaxy Watch 4, with 21.7 percent of reader votes cast in our AW Poll. The Watch 4 Classic is less popular, with 19.6 percent of the vote, but is still one of the favorites of Galaxy Unpacked.
Samsung’s Galaxy Buds 2 have clearly caused less dust; the fully wireless earphones only pick up 2.2 percent of the votes. With devices like the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3, that can’t be seen as a complete surprise – after all, ‘wireless earphones’ aren’t that special anymore.
